Showgard Stamp Mounts
This brand of stamp mounts ceased being imported into the UK when
the Agency was dropped in February 2022, by Stanley Gibbons,
citing a severe problem obtaining stocks.
For a short time we were offering Hawid Schaufix, the same product,
but these ceased retail production when Leuchtturm took over Hawid.
Hawid Alternative Mounts
The No.1 brand of stamp mounts and offering a bigger range of sizes.
Strip sizes 21mm - 55mm are sealed at the bottom only, but by using
the Hawid Glue Pen you can seal the top of the mount,
thus producing the same Gard style security.
Strips 60mm, or larger, are sealed top and bottom, just like a Gard style
mount. To put the stamp or miniature sheet etc into the mount,
you simply slide it in from the side.
Alternatively, one can insert a thin piece of card and slice
the back foil in half, thus producing the Gard effect.
Something that we know some
collectors are doing, who prefer the Gard style mounts.
